Seoul Tower

We quickly dropped off our bags back at Somerset, home, and then were off to Seoul Tower. Seoul Tower reminds me of the Seattle Space Needle only the Seoul Tower is built on a hill/small mountain. We were on schedule as both Jen and Norah had Skyping to do. The six of us crammed into a taxi to the cable car station. You can hike up to the bottom of Seoul Tower for free or take a cable car for money. Even though it would have been a perfect night to hike we chose the cable car. However, we stopped for a quick dinner first. Our only choice was Korean. For all of us we ordered the bibim naengmyeon, buckwheat noodles, both spicy and not and bibimbap which is rice with vegetables that you can add pepper paste to. I loved bibimbap! Of course we were served kimchi both hot and cold varieties. With full bellies we rode the cable car
up only to find out we had to go up more which was enough steps to make the cable car very worth it.
We rode an elevator to the top and on the way up there was a quick movie on the ceiling which was pretty cool. At the top the view is amazing. The city is split in half by the Han River and then it is like 4 New York cities. There are skyscrapers and lights in all directions. It was very pretty. We were able to find our general home location. Another cool thing you could do was mail a postcard from the highest post office in South Korea. I sent one to myself since I knew that address for sure. On all sides of the windows there were cities and countries listed with how many kilometers away they were. I have been to 12 of the places and the Youngstroms 16. I am trying to be a world traveler and am getting there slowly. I have now been to 5 of 7 continents! I doubt I’ll get to Antarctica so I better start saving for Australia. To keep you entertained they also had a floor you could step on that would “fall”
out from under you and it would make it look like you were falling down. Seoul Tower is a place everyone should visit if in Seoul.
