Carribean Bay No Tankini

On Thursday both Professor Youngstroms were giving an exam so they had their assistants administer the exams and we went to Carribean Bay, the World's Largest Waterpark.
It is best to go on a weekday since it is peak season. When we woke up the weather forecast was 100% chance of rain so we knew it would be a great day to go. It is hot and humid here so what's a little rain when you'll already be wet.
We had to take the metro to the bus and it took about an hour an a half. Every time I get out of the metro to another part of Seoul it just seems bigger and bigger. It's way bigger than NYC!
Carribean Bay is part of Korea's version of Disney World and it is called Everland. It is quite pricey to get in but they have a cool bracelet system. I was able to put money on a waterproof bracelet to buy stuff while at the park. They would just scan my wrist and I didn't have to worry about carrying anything around. It was great! At the end you get your money back. So my mission at the park was to ride everything both inside and outside. Diane, Eric, and I accomplished this. Kay and Jen are a bit more timid. So it has the typical waterslides and then some. My favorite two slides on floats were Water Blaster and Boomerang-O. Water Blaster
takes you up two long conveyor belts and the uses what seems like a firefighter hose to blast you down.
It is an extremely hard blast of water. Cool view of the park from the top Boomerang-O is a four person circular raft where you go down a steep incline to see how far up you can get on the other incline before sliding down.
The lazy river goes inside and out and takes a good hour to complete.

However, the best slide is the Aqua Loop.
It is a new ride. It is not like anything I've ever seen. When I first tried to get on I was denied. I was wearing a tankini. Only bikinis, one pieces, and men's suit are allowed. Plus you have to take every piece of jewelry off including the smallest items like nose rings and stud earrings. I was super disappointed, but have no fear we rolled my tankini up to look like a bikini. After climbing a gazillion stairs you get to the top. It is crazy high! Then you get into a capsule. It is like something from the Jetson's. You are on a slight incline where you cross your legs and arms and lean back. Then this high pitched squeaky voice comes on and says 3, 2, 1 and the trap door floor opens and you fall through. It was super scary and claustrophobic, but the tube is a clear colored plastic. When for the floor falls out you are supposed to get enough speed to be able to make a complete 360 and slide out.
Most people are successful. However, I was one to do the walk of shame. I felt myself going up and almost over but then slid back the other way. I was not happy. Then there is a small hole you climb out of and do the walk of shame down. I did not want to be defeated so I tried again...and again...and again...At the fifth attempt a ride operator spoke English. He told me there are three reasons why I am not possibly making it around. 1. I don't weigh enough (NOPE) 2. My position was incorrect (NOPE) he actually said it was perfect 3. The fabric of my swimsuit (YEP) I guess that is why the rules say bikini or one piece for women. Oh well I am sure a ride like this will pop up in the USA and I'll master it then. Diane's swimsuit took a beating from the Aqua Loops. Here are some almost holes The other neat thing about being in Korea at a waterpark is to see their customs and food.
At all amusement parks all employees are constantly doing a double handed wave. It is so funny! I'll be sure to demonstrate. So my favorite food that I saw at the park but didn't try was peanut buttered squid sticks. It is sold right with the Dip 'n Dots ice cream. I plan to try it at the next park I go to but this trip included a cheeseburger and fries for lunch, a shared churro, shared Dip 'n Dots, and my snakc for the ride home was a bulgogi wrap. It is the Korean marinated beef wrapped in dough. It was like a beef Hot Pocket. We stayed until the park closed, took the bus ride back, and had rice for dinner!

This waterpark sounds miserable to me, but perfect for you! Glad you had fun!
